YB. Dato’ Seri S. Samy Vellu attended a working site visit to the 6 Interchanges Project at Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) as to mark the completion of the RM174 million project on the 22nd March 2005. YB. Dato’ Seri S. Samy Vellu and guests visited all of the completed interchanges which include Kelana Jaya Interchange, Puchong Jaya Interchange, Taman Puchong Industri Interchange, IOI Interchange and Kg. Baru Puchong Interchange. Among present include Deputy Director General (Technical) LLM, YB Dato’ Ghazali Md. Nor, Litrak Executive Director, Tn. Hj. Yusof bin Daud and Litrak Director, YB Dato’ Azmi Mat Nor. This project is crucial due to the increase of traffic volume and high residential capacity especially in Puchong. It is meant to replace several temporary U-turns (fast lane to fast lane U-turn) that are dangerous and have caused many casualties.

The construction of these interchanges were supposed to be carried out by developers adjacent to LDP but after 5 years since the opening of LDP, they have yet to fulfill their promises. In line with that, the Government has allowed LITRAK to complete this project eventhough there will be no additional concession period or increase of their toll rate. All of the interchanges have been opened to traffic and the final interchange in this project – Kg. Baru Puchong Interchange was opened to traffic at 5.00 p.m. on the same day.
