LITRAK Group Shares Chinese New Year Event With The Underprivileged

IT is unfortunate that charity homes, as featured in recent news, as having difficulty making ends meet with a substantial drop in donations and contributions over the years.

News like this tugged at LITRAK’s heart and this year, some 30 children from a privately run charity home in Batu 7, Jalan Puchong, House of Joy was chosen as the beneficiary for the charity event hosted by LITRAK. The children received RM50 each of ‘angpow’ and goody bags at a ceremony held at Mc Donald Restaurant, Lay-by 3, Toll Plaza Petaling Jaya Selatan nearby LITRAK Operations Complex recently.

Present as the guest of honor was Dato’ Ir Hj Ismail Md Salleh, Director General of Malaysia Highway Authority (MHA). At the same platform, LITRAK also gave away cash prizes totaling almost RM 1,000.00 to the Home for the welfare of the children.

Present to give away the goodies to the children was En. Sazally Saidi, LITRAK Group Chief Executive Officer who said that it had become a practice for LITRAK management to take time-off to be with the less fortunate for every major festival. “The senior management makes it a point to be present personally to be with the less fortunate, as part of giving back to the community” he said. He also added that LITRAK Group has given a toll discount on LDP and SPRINT in conjunction with the Chinese New Year event and other major festival celebration as well. “We have subsidized a total of RM 158,000 for 263,346 users on LDP and RM 18,318.80 for 91,594 users on SPRINT for the recent Chinese New Year festival. Another interesting fact is that, LITRAK Group has also subsidized a total of RM 1.17 million for 1.52 million LDP users and RM 96, 000 for 478, 000 SPRINT users for 5 major festival which are Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Aidilfitri, National Day and Christmas for the whole year of 2011”.
